The Role

This position will focus on the general functions, departmental workflows, procedure details of the benefits, workplace operations, payroll and people operations departments while maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Your day-to-day

  • Responsible for managing, developing and retaining employees while providing employees the tools and support they need to achieve success and contribute to the goals of the business and provide leadership, strategic direction and support to each team
  • Responsible for planning and leading cross functional teams and overseeing the management and execution of day to day tasks and solution execution.
  • Establish clear objectives and oversee internal workflows of each department; track progress against those objectives
  • Oversee the planning and administration of employee benefit programs from health insurance, retirement plans, life insurance and other employee benefit programs
  • Perform and respond to benefits audits; maintain compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations
  • Oversee the organization’s HRIS system and modules, ensuring system compliance with data security, privacy requirements while ensuring data integrity within the single source of truth
  • Oversee payroll processing and audits, ensuring employees are being paid correctly and benefit related deductions are properly administered and applicable state and local taxes are applied.
  • Oversee workplace operations in Arizona, Rhode Island and San Francisco
  • Design and implementation of company policies and initiatives ensuring they are cost effective, run smoothly and contribute to a healthy work environment
  • Establish strong working relationships with third party vendors
  • Provide support and guidance to management and other staff when complex issues arise
  • Oversee the immigration function, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws.
About You
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 10 or more years proven work experience as a Business Operations Manager or similar role
  • Hands on experience with Human Resources Information Systems
  • Prior experience managing a retirement plan is required, including ERISA audits, plan testing, and form 5500 review
  • Strong knowledge of benefit programs and administration
  • Strong knowledge of Immigration laws and regulations
  • Experience overseeing an immigration function
  • Good knowledge of related laws and regulations
  • Excellent analytical and decision making abilities
  • Team leader skills and motivation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skill and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, confidentiality with a strong sense of accountability
Bonus Points
  • Experience in finance and/or accounting (Huge bonus points)
  • Excel and or Google sheet experience
Salary: $185,000 to $275,000*
  • Please note that the final salary offered will be determined based on the selected candidate's skills, and experience, as well as the internal salary structure at Quanata. Our aim is to offer a competitive and equitable compensation package that reflects the candidate's expertise and contributions to our organization.

  • Location : We are a remote-first company for most positions so you may work from anywhere you like in the U.S, excluding U.S. territories. Occasional travel may be required for team meetings or company gatherings. Employees based in the San Francisco Bay Area or in Providence, Rhode Island may commute to one of our local offices as desired.
  • Hours : We maintain core meeting hours from 9AM - 3PM Pacific time for collaborating with team members across all time zones.
