Global Procurement

The Global Procurement Function helps stakeholders get the best value from their external supplier spend and ensure that Experian's commercial interests are protected.

Global Procurement is part of the Global Finance organization and works across the matrix, both regionally and within our Global Business Lines (GBLs). We leverage Experian's spend to get the best outcome for our stakeholders and shareholders while ensuring we exceed our clients’ needs.

North America Procurement

As part of the Global Procurement Function the North America Procurement Team is here to capture and maximize the value from Stakeholder’s external supplier spend through optimizing acquisition cost, minimizing enterprise risk from Experian's external supplier base, while driving supplier innovation and collaboration. In direct collaboration with our team, we enable the business to source, select and contract through the Procurement Lifecycle.

Job Description

Role Summary

The unique role affords you the opportunity to join a fun and dynamic procurement organization, that has access to all levels of Experian’s diverse employee base, and where you will obtain paralegal-level knowledge and understanding of commercial contract law through hands-on contracting experience.

Key Responsibilities

As a Procurement Contracts Specialist, you will support the regional and global buying strategy for one or more spend categories: marketing, data acquisition, professional services, and IT. The role requires the successful candidate to partner with the buyer to prepare, coordinate, and manage our supplier contracts:

  • Identification of the engagement risk
  • Review existing contract documents to determine fit for purpose
  • Identification and generation of all required contracting documents
  • Redline, edit, draft contractual and other documents to meet Experian’s commercial contracting standards and supporting supplier negotiation
  • Act as project manager for coordination with the buyer, various stakeholders, and subject matter experts in the legal, compliance, product, third party risk, and finance departments, and drive transactions to successful completion within the required time frame
  • Provide key milestone updates to stakeholders on contracting progress
  • Responsible for enforcing and documenting approval for non-standard terms and pricing
  • Advise management on contractual terms and risks
  • Operate independently on most matters, with sound judgement in ambiguous situations, amongst competing priorities
  • Work across multiple businesses, teams, and time-zones
  • Maintain key work activities in Experian’s tools
  • Build positive relationships with buyers and internal stakeholders
  • Promote a high-level customer experience
QualificationsWhat your background looks like
  • Must be located in Southern California or Allen, TX
  • Business related Bachelors degree required, advanced degrees (JD) a plus
  • 3+ years relevant contracting or relevant work experience
  • Experience with data privacy laws, a plus
  • Ability to build positive and professional relationships, internally and externally
  • Good understanding of general commercial contract law
  • Strong project management skills
  • Sound judgement and able to make decisions quickly
  • Can-do attitude, results driven and resourceful
  • Experience with Ariba Contracts, an advantage but not necessary
