Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm EST

Recruitment & Onboarding
- Full cycle recruitment and selection of internal and external candidates across all DriverCheck locations;
- Working closely with department managers to determine staffing requirements;
- Contribute to the development, implementation and maintenance of recruitment policies and procedures based on DriverCheck’s Values;
- Ensure recruitment policies and procedures are incorporated in DriverCheck’s remote locations;
- Develop and maintain Job Descriptions for the company;
- Assist in planning, organizing, and executing Career Open House/Job Fairs;
- Act as a resource person to managers and employees for all questions regarding policies and procedures, benefits and HR related inquires;
- Assist managers on the interpretation of company policies and how to handle and document employee situations; prepare related documentation as needed;
- Work closely with the SR HR Business Partner and team to identify resolutions to employee relation issues; including counselling managers on performance management concerns, dealing with conflict resolution, managing performance improvement plans, terminations and assisting in the communication of company requirements
- Ensure that all guidance, decisions making and solutions offered will be in accordance to all applicable employment legislations as well as internal policies, processes and procedures and ensure the best interest of both the company and its employees have been taken into account.
- Conduct exit interviews
- Administration and education to employees on all HR-related matters including payroll and benefits, health and safety to maintain a sustainable relationship with all staff.
- Track and maintain all training, certifications and other necessary information and advises managers regarding outstanding training, certifications, and mandatory paperwork.
- Assist with employee engagement, reward/recognition and culture-building activities and continuously seek to identify opportunities to combat turnover.
- Demonstrate commitment to Health and Safety and set a standard of performance and behaviour (lead by example);
- Establish and instruct workers on safe work procedures and practices;
- Assist with the administration of the Health and Safety program, including active participation in the Joint Health and Safety Committee, accident, and incident investigation, and assisting with risk-assessments
- Assist in Worker's Compensation and leave of absence administration including tracking and reporting to various provincial agencies.
- Contribute to updating, developing & maintain HSE policies and procedures; Ensure compliance and adherence to H&S policies
- Understand and keep abreast of regulatory requirements in the geographic areas the Employer employ staff;
- Assist with managing company safety certifications and portals;
- Promote health and safety awareness and correct unsafe practices or conditions;
- Ensure compliance and company wide training needs are identified and met;
- Contribute to developing, updating and maintaining efficient Human Resources policies, procedures and processes;
- Support the implementation of various HR activities, programs, and services within the organization
- Assist in planning of employee events, update bulletin boards and monitors and assist in creating annual employee engagement activities calendar
- Working with the HR Team to support the annual engagement survey, data analysis and action plans
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes and new technologies in HR, talent management and employment law.
- In conjunction with HR team, develop and maintain relevant HR metrics, examines, and identifies key trends in data and provides recommendations based on data.
- Participate in continuous improvement of department and HR related processes
- Prepare HR communications and keep HR communication boards and tools up-to-date.
Customer Service
- Ensure high levels of quality and professional customer service;
- Work to create a service driven process;
- Service excellence is a core expectation;
- Post-secondary education with focus on HR or related field.
- Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation or working towards preferred
- 2+ years as an HR Professional
- Good knowledge of current employment-related laws and legislations.
- Effective written and verbal communication that can reach all levels of the organization.
- Ability to exhibit professionalism and diplomacy with all levels of the organization even under stressful/high pressured situations.
- High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis to help guide business planning.
- Strong interpersonal relationship building and coaching skills with the ability to exercise the appropriate level of confidentiality when required.
- Must be able to work well in a team environment in a respectful way, adapt to change and have the ability to influence others without authority in a direct and positive manner
- Excellent organizational management skills and strong attention to detail
