QualificationsApplicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including specialized experience and/or education, as defined below.

To Qualify For The GS-12 Level, You Must Demonstrate At Least One Year Of Specialized Experience Equivalent To The Next Lower Grade Level GS-11 Or Pay Band In Federal Service Or Equivalent Experience. Specialized Experience Includes

• Analyzing and interpreting regulations and policies to ensure compliance with social service program requirements;
• Providing oversight and technical assistance to State or local agencies regarding nutrition assistance programs or social service programs;
• Evaluating programs to provide recommendations for improvement and/or corrective action; and
• Communicating information, both orally and in writing, to contacts within and outside of the organization.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
