Duties

The Facilities Services Supervisor is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementation of all building/facilities services, laborer, custodial and materials handling operations within the zone/building.

In This Position, You Will

  • Plan, direct, monitor and manage the operations of a zone/building in the day-to-day oversight of a large cleaning operation, labor and moving services, and special event coordination.
  • Perform the full range of supervisory functions for Building and Facilities Services, Custodial, Laborer, and Materials Handling staff.
  • Use a maintenance management computer software system (Facility Center) for timekeeping, purchasing, work order management and reporting.

Conditions of EmploymentPhysical RequirementsThis position requires the physical ability to perform moderately heavy work including lifting and carrying heavy objects up to 50 lbs.; work outside in all weather conditions with exposure to dirt, dust, pollen and insects; climb ladders and stairs; and stand and walk for extended periods.

Additional Conditions Of Employment

Must have a valid State or District of Columbia driver's license. (You must submit a copy with your application).

Must be available workdays that include holidays, weekends, and call back emergencies.

Qualifications

In order to be rated qualified, an applicant's overall experience and training must indicate possession of the minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform the duties of this position.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

  • This position is not included in the bargaining unit.
