Are you a journalist with newspaper production experience? Are you a sharp copy editor with a knack for headline-writing and page design? Pagemasters North America (PMNA) is seeking a part-time editor/paginator who can work in a fast-paced news environment. This position can be remote anywhere within Canada, and remote or hybrid from Toronto or Calgary.

As the successful candidate you have:

  • Experience editing, laying out/designing and proofing newspaper pages for a variety of sections, from business to general news and entertainment
  • Solid copy editing, page design and headline-writing skills
  • Strong news judgment
  • The ability to get the details right while meeting deadlines
  • Superior customer service orientation
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • A background in journalism
RequirementsYou are able to:
  • Respond quickly to breaking news and multi-task under tight deadline pressure with speed, accuracy and clarity
  • Learn quickly and apply client's style rules and preferences
  • Be flexible and adapt to changing client standards/needs
  • Work evenings and weekends
