We have an exciting new opportunity to be part of the Model Manufacturing team as Model Maker

The successful candidate will have previous experience of model making in a high-level motorsport environment, have a good attention to detail, work calmly and accurately under pressure, work positively and enthusiastically in a small team and have a flexible attitude to helping fulfil the requirements of the department and team as a whole.

Working day shift in the Model Shop Team, the Model Maker will primarily be focused on the manufacture, assembly and testing of components for our wind tunnel test program. Whilst also ensuring all aero and race car requirements are always met to the highest possible standard.

Weekend wind tunnel sessions in rotation is also a key requirement of the role.

The Successful candidate must have the following attributes:

  • Demonstrate experience in the manufacture of wind tunnel models and the components required for aero testing through various manufacturing processes.
  • Competent in identifying potential shortages of parts or concerns of part quality and raising these issues with the Model department leads.
  • Ensuring all parts are prepared for the wind tunnel sessions to the highest possible standard.
  • Attending and proactively participate in meetings as required.
  • Previous experience of wind tunnel testing essential.
  • Meeting the requirements and demands of the busy periods.
  • Proactively develop methods within the department to improve manufacturing times, quality and efficiency.
  • To possess an in-depth knowledge of wind tunnel models and systems.
  • Previous experience in inspection of model assembly advantageous.
  • To maintain and develop skill levels to industry standard.
  • Ability to calmly and confidently work under pressure to achieve targets and deliver results within required timescales.
  • Ability to deal with technical challenges as they arise and know when to ask if unsure.
  • Be results orientated and be confident in your decision-making skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate a clear understanding of and commitment to Health & Safety.
