About The Position

This is an Initiatives/Opportunities bargaining unit employee position. This position will start in June 2024 and end in June 2025. Working 35 hours per week at an hourly rate of $35.06, they will be reporting to the Associate Director of Experiential Learning and Co-operative Education.

The Campus to Community Coordinator will lead the development, coordination, promotion and facilitation of Lambton College’s volunteer program and Co-Curricular Record (CCR) programming designed to support the personal, academic, social and developmental growth and success of Lambton College students. This includes best practices in volunteer engagement, networking and leadership development. The incumbent will develop and maintain partnerships with community organizations to support a campus to community connection fostering engaged citizenship, community leadership, and civic engagement among Lambton’s current student community.

Flexible working hours may be required and may include early mornings, evenings and weekends.

The Campus to Community Coordinator coordinates the marketing and promotion of activities related to the Co-op and Career Services department to engage all internal and external stakeholders. The incumbent is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing an effective marketing plan utilizing various marketing strategies and tools.

Specific Accountabilities

Coordinates the Implementation of the Co-curricular Record, and Leads the Student Volunteer Program

  • Assists community agencies and college partners with developing positions and learning outcomes for the Co-curricular Record
  • Liaises with community agencies interested in listing volunteer opportunities to students
  • Develops and maintains an active database of student volunteer and leadership opportunities
  • Assists students with updating CCR records on an individual basis
  • Develops application process and assessment for community organizations looking to partner with the CCR program
  • Acts as the primary point of contact for all community partners seeking volunteers. Coordinates all project agreements and Memorandums of Understanding
  • Coordinates the recruitment of student leads and volunteers.
  • Oversees the work of the Student Leads and provides guidance on projects and community partner relationships
  • Works collaboratively with community organizations to develop meaningful volunteer opportunities for Lambton students and partners
  • Oversees student participation and tracks attendance for Campus to Community initiatives
  • Assesses Co-Curricular Record programming and reports results on a monthly basis
  • Conducts CCR program assessment and review to provide recommendations Leads the general maintenance of the
  • Co-Curricular Record catalogue, and facilitates the CCR module software upgrades
  • Participates in communities of practice, conduct research on student development theory and experiential learning, and remain current in best practices in student leadership and community-based learning
  • Provides ongoing support and guidance to partner campuses related to CCR and volunteer initiatives
  • Develops and actively supports the Lambton Student Leadership Development Series
Markets and Promotes Co-op and Career Services Activities
  • Works with marketing to develop an annual marketing plan to promote all services offered by CCS to key stakeholders utilizing various marketing strategies with a focus on digital marketing
  • Develops and implements communication and marketing strategy to promote Co-op and Career Services to key internal and external stakeholders
  • Develops a communication strategy to inform students about volunteering and ‘getting involved’ on and off campus, including the maintenance and upkeep of the CCR database
  • Shares student and community success stories to showcase Lambton College talent
  • Maintains an online presence through social media and the website promoting all services offered through the Co-op and
  • Career Services department engaging key internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain all updates/changes for Co-op and Career Services website – student and employer facing
  • Facilitates the annual Volunteer Fair and provides opportunities for community partners to engage with students on campus
Qualifications
  • A minimum three year post secondary diploma/degree or equivalent in Business Marketing, Project Management, or Event Management
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in a marketing and promotion role
  • Experience managing marketing and promotion campaigns using a wide variety of marketing techniques – specifically digital marketing tools
  • Experience in volunteer management, organizing community event/programming, leadership development, and/or medium to large scale event planning
  • Experience coaching, mentoring, and motivating project team members and students to create positive action and accountability
  • Experience generating and maintaining statistics and reports to track activity and demonstrate outcomes
  • Ability to obtain a clear vulnerable sector criminal record check prior to starting the role is required
  • Valid driver’s license required
