Marymount School seeks an experienced, dynamic, and collaborative educator to teach English in our Upper School, with a particular focus on ninth-grade skill-building and humanities classes. The ideal candidate is excited to support students as they develop skills in close reading and critical thinking and offer opportunities to practice creative and analytical writing. Marymount seeks faculty who are interested in joining a community of teachers engaged in the development of an evolving and engaging curriculum that meets the needs of students in our world today. Proficiency with technology, a commitment to equity in teaching practices, and a flexible mindset are essential. All Upper School faculty serve as advisors to a small group of students and moderate at least one student club or activity.
We Seek Candidates With The Following Qualifications
- Master’s or Ph.D. in English or related field (such as Comparative Literature or Teaching of English)
- Experience teaching English (Upper School English preferred)
- Ability to differentiate and vary instructional methods
