Job SummaryTo accurately dispense clinically checked prescriptions against the relevant

prescription documentation, referring any areas of doubt promptly to the Responsible

Pharmacist

To contribute to responsibility for the ordering and management of all medicines

within Pharmacy@QEHB Ltd, working collaboratively together with the other

dispensing assistants and under the guidance of the pharmacy manager

To identify potential problems in the administration of medicines such as medicine

interactions, newly prescribed drugs, physical factors that could affect patient

compliance etc

To contribute to the development and maintenance of a high quality and timely

outpatient service for patients.

To contribute to the safe and accurate issue of completed dispensed prescriptions to

patients

To contribute to the maintenance of complete and accurate patient medication

records for all supplies from the pharmacy

To work collaboratively with other dispensing assistants to get the most from

pharmacy automation

Main Duties, Tasks & Skills Required

To contribute to the provision of a patient focused pharmacy service.

To contribute to the development and maintenance of effective and efficient

working processes in the dispensary for staff to follow.

To contribute to the induction training and development of new dispensing

assistants and retail staff

To act as a role model for the other dispensing assistants
