Job Description
The Prosperity Project is a registered charity founded initially to mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on Canadian women who were being disproportionately affected. The Prosperity Project's mission is to explicitly link women and prosperity to underscore the economic
importance of gender equality. The Prosperity Project applies intersectional identities and
inclusivity lenses to serve women who also identify as people of colour, Indigenous, Black,
2LSGBTQIA+, and/or living with disabilities.
About the role
We are seeking an individual with a passion for gender equity and inclusion. Reporting to, and
working closely with, the Executive Director (ED), the Director of Operations and Strategic
Partnerships will help foster a collaborative, supportive and flexible environment that fosters
performance and accountability. All work will be done remotely, with occasional travel for events
and meetings as required.
About you
You are a seasoned operations leader with extensive experience in managing a diversified portfolio of organizational functions including HR, Finance, Events, IT, Legal, and Board Administration. Your expertise isn’t necessarily in the intricacies of each of these fields, but in effectively administering and optimizing them. You anticipate problems before they arise, offering invaluable foresight in a fast-paced setting.
You excel at developing, maintaining, and expanding relationships with stakeholders and partners across government, not-for-profit, corporate, and philanthropic sectors. You are an exceptional communicator who has a proven track record of partnership management, and you have
experience tracking key deliverables and following up on outstanding items to drive impact.
You are a strategic thinker, adaptive, incredibly organized, hardworking, and able to coordinate cross-organizationally to deliver on the organization’s objectives.
POSITION DUTIES
Strategic Partnerships:
• Work with the ED in the development of sponsorship presentations for potential partners
• Work with the ED in onboarding new partners
• Build and maintain relationship with the day-to-day contact for all partners: sending
updates, invitations, questions, opportunities, etc.
• Oversee the development and maintenance of the partnership tracking system to
proactively manage The Prosperity Project’s partnerships
• Lead on ensuring partner obligations to TPP are met
• Track partner deliverables and ensure they are met (ex: Op Ed, roundtable, etc.)
• Build and maintain effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders and partners, including government bodies, political offices, community groups, and funders.
Operations:
• Manage and optimize diversified organizational functions including HR, Finance, Events, IT,
Legal, and Board Administration.
• Administer and oversee service providers to ensure alignment with organizational
objectives and quality service delivery
• Manage the process of applying for and obtaining funding for co-op students, as well as
onboarding them
• Research and negotiate with vendors for external services related to TPP operations.
• Act as Secretary for all TPP Board of Directors and Committee meetings
• Prepare and compile program reports (financial, activities, etc.) for submission
• Ensure all program reports (financial, activities, etc.) are completed and submitted on time
and in accordance with TPP’s agreements with partners
• Oversee staff responsible for program management
REQUIREMENTS
• Advanced degree in business administration, political science, gender studies or other
related field
• 10+ years of experience in operations and/or stakeholder management and/or strategic partnership with a focus on not for profit preferred
• 5+ years in progressive leadership roles with a demonstrated success record in improving
the efficiency of teams and the retention of top talent.
• Extensive organizational and administrative skills.
• Experience managing budgets with a focus on non-profit and government reporting
preferred
• Ability to work in a highly collaborative cross-functional environment.
• Adept at operating with a high degree of autonomy, a proactive, entrepreneurial mindset
and the ability to build relationships and establish rapport with others
• Exceptional written and verbal communications skills.
• Consistently demonstrates superior analytical skills with excellent attention to accuracy
and detail.
• Highly organized with superior project management skills and proven ability to work well
under pressure.
• Bilingualism in both of Canada’s official languages a major asset
• Knowledgeable in Microsoft 365, Mailchimp, Canva, WordPress; experience with web or
marketing cloud an asset.
• Flexibility to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
Salary range for this role is $90,000-$100,000 + benefits, 4 weeks vacation, internet and phone stipend.
