Fort Worth Academy is seeking a full time enthusiastic and passionate lower school teacher for the 24-25 school year.
Skills: Innovative and dynamic teacher who has demonstrated success teaching diverse learners in a progressive project-based learning environment. Experience helping students develop essential skills for managing emotions, building positive relationships, and making responsible decisions, ultimately fostering their overall well-being and academic success. Strong understanding of methods for developing a growth mindset in students beginning in an early childhood classroom. Enthusiasm for incorporating hands-on learning experiences. Optimistic and flexible leader who enjoys working in a collaborative environment. Understands the importance of developing the attributes of entrepreneurs, leaders, and innovators in their students. Cultivates a working relationship with parents who place a high value on the education of their children. Excellent communication skills and proactive problem solving skills. Strong classroom management, planning, and organizational skills. Enjoys and understands the importance of lifelong learning. Team player who is energetic and willing to take initiative.
Responsibilities: Develop and implement lessons for language arts (reading, spelling, and writing), math, and social studies. Design engaging activities and projects to enhance learning experiences and incorporate appropriate technologies. Foster critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills through hands-on activities and inquiry-based learning. Adapt curriculum to meet the diverse needs of students while teaching children about self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making. Create a safe and supportive classroom environment where students feel valued, respected, and included. Participate in school-wide events, committees, and extracurricular activities to contribute to the school community. Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
