Hamden Hall Country Day School (Hamden, CT), a PS - Grade 12 private school serving 650 students, is seeking a full-time 3rd grade teacher. This teacher will be responsible for planning, teaching, and monitoring the success of all learners in their classroom and build a dynamic learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide a nurturing, student-centered, and inclusive environment for students
- Build a strong classroom community
- Work collaboratively with a co-teacher to support and extend the objectives of the curriculum
- Able to differentiate instruction for a wide range of student's abilities and interests
- Communicate regularly with parents via phone call, Zoom, and/or e-mail
- Create written narrative reports twice during the school year
- Create written conference reports twice during the school year
- Teach reading with a phonics-based, Science of Reading model
- Embrace technology and new ways of extending students' learning and creative capacities
- Knowledge of and experience with the cognitive, social, and emotional issues of elementary grade students
- Willingness to learn and grow professionally
