Project Manager
Responsibilities
- Develop a deep understanding of our current business processes, data flows, data requirements, and company & customer needs, and then utilise this knowledge in the implementation of innovative technology and processes
- Meeting with internal clients and stakeholders to define and document project scope, objectives, and expectations, mapping out and improve project delivery processes
- Lead the day-to-day interactions with external developers and development teams to ensure we are on track, on budget, and deliverables are met.
- Manage both the larger process / software projects, as well as the continuous process improvement projects within the business
- Be the point of contact for our internal staff, as well as our external developers, for any development work and project queries.
- Preparing and managing project budget, schedule, and resources on a range of concurrent projects, ensure projects are delivered on time and on-budget.
- Work alongside various teams to lead the project requirements gathering and scoping, and work with stakeholders to select the best software taking into account business objectives, costs and timelines.
- Ensure we have the right level of resource for our project, and to agree any additional resource required, to ensure they are delivered effectively and on time
- Delegating and coordinating project tasks to team members based on their skills and experience
- Tracking and reporting project performance and progress to senior management and other stakeholders
- Ensuring project quality and technical feasibility, setting realistic deadlines and milestones against which to report and expedite project delivery.
- Creating and maintaining detailed project documentation
- Ensure full training is put into place so staff are confident to use the software and there’s maximum utilisation of the new technology.
- Managing project risks, issues, dependencies, and constraints and taking proactive, timely and appropriate action
- Take ownership of our internal Project Management tool to improve processes and create new, more efficient
- Report to management on a periodic basis the progress of various projects.
- Significant project management experience within medium size business (particularly distribution / physical product focused) - supported by PRINCE2 certification
- Strong experience of working with projects involving ERP systems, and business transformation
- Someone who takes on responsibility, is pro-active, and can act autonomously
- A strong leader who can take charge of projects to ensure they are fully delivered on time, and within budget.
- Commercial mindset, and an ability to deeply understand business requirements, processes, and data flows, to then translate them into effective implementation of recent technology.
- Demonstrable experience of establishing effective business processes using new technology.
- Experience of effective implementation, training, and roll-out of multiple and concurrent business projects.
- Strong ability to manage, prioritise and ensure progression of multiple projects using project management tools.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication, and teamwork skills to be able to work across multiple teams and progress projects.
- Excellent time management, and elevated levels of attention to detail.
- High level analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with the ability to work under pressure and make hard decision required to achieve project objectives
