DescriptionOur client a well established automotive dealership based in central GTA has an exciting opening for a Senior Accountant to join their Accounting Department. Reporting to the Controller the Senior Accountant will play a key role in preparing financial statements, analyzing and reconciling accounts, analyzing cash flow, creating budgets and forecasts, preparing audits, and managing internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. What you get to do every single day

  • Provide Balance Sheet account reconciliations
  • Produce monthly P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management purposes
  • Analyze financial information and report on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)
  • Ensure corporate accounting policies, procedures, and controls are followed when working with business partners and be able to provide support on special requests
  • Provide assistance in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external
  • Adherence to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
  • Complete monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables that includes journal entries, reconciliations, and reports in the compensation area in compliance with GAAP
  • Coordinate Ad-hoc projects as necessary
  • Partake in various department-wide initiatives
Requirements
  • Business Degree, CPA enrolled is preferred
  • 3 plus years of recent automotive dealership full cycle accounting experience is required.
  • Experience with car dealership software, Reynolds and Reynolds or PBS is a strong asset.
  • Exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of month end closings
  • Adeptness in Microsoft Excel
  • Bank reconciliations experience
  • Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively throughout all levels of the company
  • Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
