Overview

Freelance Senior Director, Marketing deeply understands how to build meaningful connections with consumers, forge integrated brand/merchant partnerships, and create buzz in the market through experiential activations, while establishing strong foundations of brand and creative management. They excel in positioning the brands and their missions within the cultural zeitgeist – striking the right balance between limitless creativity and applying insights and data to inform all decisions. In this role, they directly manage a team and continuously evolve the end-to-end consumer journey, engaging the right audience at the right time, via the right channels. It is critical that they have deep experience in developing brands at scale but bringing them to life for consumers in a locally relevant manner.

You Will Do

  • Marketing plans that align with seasonal/annual sales targets and EBIT goals.
  • Seasonal strategy planning sessions with merchant teams to synchronize on product priorities.
  • Relationships with Merchants and the Fashion Office to coordinate key product stories and messaging for driving business.
  • Maintain external merchant vendor relationships, prioritizing strategic marketing partnerships.

You Will Need

Consumer Connection: Ability to deeply understand consumer behavior, preferences, and trends to build meaningful connections with them.

Brand and Merchant Partnership: Proficiency in forging integrated partnerships between brands and merchants to amplify marketing efforts and drive business growth.

Experiential Marketing: Capability to create buzz in the market through experiential activations, including events, pop-ups, and immersive brand experiences.

Brand and Creative Management: Skill in establishing strong foundations of brand identity and managing creative assets effectively.

Creativity with Data-Driven Decision Making: Ability to balance creativity with insights and data analysis to inform marketing strategies and decisions effectively.

End-to-End Consumer Journey: Skill in continuously evolving the consumer journey, ensuring engagement with the right audience through appropriate channels at the right times.

Marketing Planning and Execution: Competence in developing marketing plans aligned with sales targets and business goals, and executing them effectively.

Collaboration and Coordination: Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams such as merchants and fashion offices to synchronize product priorities and messaging.

Brand Re-imagination: Skill in re-imagining brands and deploying innovative marketing strategies to revitalize and differentiate them in the market.

Multi-Channel Marketing: Experience in deploying marketing strategies across various channels, with a focus on experiential, digital, social media, and content marketing.

Industry Expertise: Deep understanding of the beauty and/or retail marketing space, including the ability to bring different brands to life for respective shoppers.
