Summary/objective

The Director of Operations has P&L responsibility for the fixed or remote operations business and will oversee a group team members either in our in-shop network or within our remote operations. The position is responsible for developing best practices within operations and reducing overall cycle times and increasing operational efficiency. The Regional Director of Operations will develop and ensure people and equipment capacity is at pace with incoming demand. Most importantly, the Director of Operations will ensure the Company, and its employees, continue to stay at the forefront of automotive technology and diagnostic services while providing exceptional customer service.

  • Oversee the hiring, training and deployment of Technicians and Managers
  • Manage activities and teams at multiple service centers across the U.S. and/or remote queues throughout our network.
  • Instill, manage, and foster a culture of exceptional, solution oriented customer service.
  • Build and lead local and remote teams capable of operationally supporting all customers
  • Implement standard operating procedures complete with a quality control processes to ensure consistent end results
  • Develop and implement KPIs that will add value to the business through continual improvement
  • Support the development and application of the asTech technology to satisfy customer needs
  • Keep abreast of automotive technology industry trends, business models and emerging technologies
  • Provide support and problem resolution for customers, both internal and external
  • Work closely with product management and IT to ensure service reports deliver meaningful information
  • Identify additional sources of information that will enhance and add value to the existing diagnostic service
  • Consistently make business decisions in direct alignment with asTech core values

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Business or other related fields or equivalent relevant industry experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in operations
  • Minimum of 3 years operations supervisory experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in automotive business
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead a team of business leaders with P&L responsibility
  • Capable of delivery outstanding customer service results
  • Excellent analytical skills including root cause analysis of process failures and anomalies.
  • Understanding of repair shop business processes preferred
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Access etc.)
  • Current valid driver’s license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR

Work environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers.

Physical demands

Physical requirements include occasional lifting/carrying of 5 pounds; visual acuity, speech, and hearing; hand and eye coordination and manual operate a computer keyboard and basic office equipment. Subject to sitting, standing, reaching, walking, twisting, and kneeling to perform the essential functions. Working conditions are primarily inside an office environment.

Travel required

This position requires up to 25% travel. Travel is generally outside the local area and overnight. This position can be remote based.
