  • Must be able to obtain/maintain a TS/SCI Security Clearance.
  • This is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) and is covered by the Department of Homeland Security Headquarters Drug-Free Workplace Program.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Overtime may be required in response to a significant event.
  • Overnight Travel of 1-5 nights per month may be required.
  • Individual must sign a Mobility Agreement.
QualificationsTo qualify for the GS-14 level, you must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service.

You must have one year of specialized experience that has provided the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.

For This Position, Specialized Experience Is Defined As Supporting Ongoing Or Emerging Substantive Intelligence Collection And Dissemination Activities In Any Established Specialty Area. Such Experience May Include Conducting a Variety Of Complex Assignments Within His/her Area Of Responsibility And Conducting And Directing In-depth Research And Analysis In Support Of Homeland Security. Additionally, Such Experience Could Be Gained From

Working with State and Local partners to create and information-sharing environment between them and the National Intelligence/Law Enforcement community.

Providing processes to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in terrorist operational tactics.

The competencies or knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform this job are:

  • Knowledge of the principles of intelligence operations and of analytical, collection and reporting principles used to gather, analyze, and evaluate a variety of information from multiple sources with a focus on threat information.
  • Ability to plan and formulate policies, procedures and strategies to provide outreach, advisory services and training on intelligence and information coordination operations.
  • Ability to coordinate and synchronize intelligence operations and activities between intelligence and law enforcement agencies.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with all levels of management and employees to provide advice on procedures, practices and policies.
Education

Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level.

A writing sample may be required if you are selected for an interview.

This is a permanent appointment in the Excepted Service and will be filled on a full-time permanent basis. Employees hired under an Excepted Service appointment may be required to serve a two (2) year trial period. This position is classified in the Excepted Service under Title 50.
