Paralegal
The opportunity
This an exciting and unique opportunity for an individual looking to progress/kick start their career as a Paralegal working across our Dispute Resolution and Public law team. This role comes with a varied and unique workload, across Business, Education, Charity and Private Client and Public sectors.
Our specialist Dispute Resolution Team undertakes a wide spectrum of Commercial and Civil Litigation work. Areas where the candidate is likely to work include: -
- Contract Disputes
- Professional Negligence
- Breach of trust claims
- Contentious Probate
- Commercial property litigation
- Intellectual Property Claims
- Defamation
- Shareholder and partnership disputes
- Land law disputes
- Commercial Landlord and Tenant including rent arrears, forfeiture, possession, dilapidations claims, business tenancy renewals
- Charity and Educational institution related disputes

- Dealing with all clients referred to you in person and on the telephone in a professional and efficient manner.
- Attending to the clients and answering any queries, with supervision from members of the team.
- Attending client hearings.
- Drafting and preparing documents, including bundles for court.
- Conducting legal research.
- Involvement in newsletter and article development, as well as other business development related activities.
- Adhere to time recording and billing requirements.
- Attending team meetings and minute taking as and when required.
- Conducting work for both colleagues and clients to the highest possible standard, having regard to the Firm’s standards, procedures and Core Values.
- Working in a collegiate and collaborative way within the immediate Team and wider Firm environment.
- Maintaining your continuing professional development requirements and taking an active interest in furthering your knowledge within the field of law.
- A degree in LLB or completion of the law conversion course (or in the process of completing).
- An interest in public and regulatory work.
- High attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- An aptitude for learning and be able to show initiative.
- IT literate including Office 2010.
- Previous Paralegal or experience within a similar role is desirable.
