The role:

The marketing and communications department is a core function within Ambassador Cruise Line. The Assistant Graphic Designer will work alongside the Graphic Designer, within the heart of the team to develop and grow the brand.

The Assistant Graphic Designer will support the Graphic Designer and Marketing team, as well as numerous agencies, creating visually stunning assets that resonate with our target audience across a range of functions both above and below the line for both B2B and B2C marketing.

This position will require a confident, well organised, resourceful, energetic, and motivated designer with plenty of passion.

Key Responsibilities:

·      Support and assist Graphic Designer in developing compelling designs for print collateral, including flyers, posters, and signage, adhering to brand guidelines and project requirements

·      Support the Marketing team in producing eye-catching digital assets for online channels, such as social media graphics, email campaigns, website banners, and multimedia presentations

·      Ensure brand guidelines and strategy are adhered to at all times

·      Assist Graphic Designer to develop and grow the brand

·      Support the Trade Sales and Operations departments with creative assets

·      Assist with onboard printed and digital materials working with the Graphic Designer and onboard team to cover requirements while maintaining our brand identity

·      Support the design elements of the app, helping to build our design identity through this new piece of technology

·      Assist with photo editing, retouching, and image manipulation as needed to enhance visual appeal and maintain brand consistency

·      Offering creative ideas and solutions for the brand to encourage business growth

·      Ensure consistent messaging, creative execution as well as design and deployment throughout all marketing communications, irrespective of the tactic

·      Any other duties that may reasonably be required

Key Attributes:

·      Fluent spoken and written English

·      1-3 years’ experience within a commercial design studio environment

·      A strong creative portfolio

·      Excellent working knowledge of Adobe CC (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat) and other relevant design software

·      Detail-oriented mindset with a passion for creativity and a drive for continuous improvement

·      Thrives in a changing environment and able to work autonomously

·      Open minded approach to creative briefs

·      Ability to dissect, understand and execute a brief

·      Ability to work multi-task projects and respond in a fast-paced environment

·      Support in the development of projects from initial concept through to completion

·      Driven to bring outstanding creative to each project

·      Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

·      Attend events as needed

·      Travel/attend the ship as needed

Knowledge/Experience – desirable:

·      Working with a major brand in a premium market

·      Experience in the travel industry (not essential)

·      Copywriting

·      Proof Reading

·      Photo editing/retouching

·      Experience with motion graphics/video editing are a plus

·      Strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of design projects, with an emphasis on print and digital media
