General Labourer

Job DescriptionAs a general laborer, you will be responsible for completing various manual tasks to support the efficient operation of the worksite. Your duties may include but are not limited to construction cleanup, material handling, basic equipment operation, and assisting skilled workers as needed. The role requires physical strength, stamina, and a willingness to work in diverse environments and weather conditions.

Responsibilities:

• Perform construction site cleanup, including debris removal and disposal.
• Assist with the loading and unloading of materials and equipment.
• Operate basic hand tools and power tools under supervision.
• Help with basic construction tasks, such as digging trenches, mixing concrete, or erecting scaffolding.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures to minimize accidents and injuries.
• Assist skilled tradespeople, such as carpenters, electricians, or plumbers, as directed.
• Perform general maintenance tasks, such as painting, sanding, or minor repairs.
• Adhere to project timelines and deadlines to ensure timely completion of tasks.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate work activities.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in general labor or construction-related work is desirable but not required.
• Physical strength and stamina to perform manual tasks, including lifting heavy objects and working in various positions.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
• Basic knowledge of hand and power tools is advantageous.
• Willingness to work outdoors and in diverse weather conditions.
• Good communication skills and the ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
• Reliable transportation to and from the job site.
• Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, or evenings as needed.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds or more).
• Stamina to stand, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods.
• Comfort working at heights or in confined spaces as required by the job.
