Duties
  • Maintain files and completed training records.
  • Provide training on a variety of administrative procedures and practices.
  • Prepare fire related reports, charts, graphs, and other documents.
  • Prepare travel documents (authorizations and vouchers) in the automated travel system.
  • Develop and formulate office budget for multiple accounts with various sub- activities and/or funding sources.
  • Process various transactions such as obligations, collections, distributions, reconciliations, etc. in the automated financial system.
  • Serves as a principle point of contact on specific technical aspects or programs related to office administration.

TO QUALIFY FOR THE GS-06 GRADE LEVEL, you must meet one of the requirements described below. You must show that you have one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level (GS-05). Specialized experience includes performing routine clerical and administrative duties such as typing, filing, printing, scanning, and/or data entry; providing information and customer service to internal and external customers by phone, email and/or in person; assist in developing and formulating an office budget; prepare written correspondence using computer software programs.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
