Job DescriptionOverview /ObjectiveThe NFL is seeking a Director, Global Event & Business Strategy to work closely with senior leadership to set the strategy for the NFL Events & International business units. In this role, the Director will be responsible for quantitative and strategic analysis in support of major NFL tentpole events (Super Bowl, Pro Bowl, Draft, Combine, Kickoff, International games, etc.), international markets and functional areas (Media, Consumer Products, Sponsorship) to further key objectives. The successful candidate will also help identify paths to new growth opportunities through evolving NFL platforms that engage in-person and at-home audiences.

In addition, this position will be responsible for the day-to-day management and execution delivery for key League commercial relationships (hospitality and retail partners) in addition to supporting new business and asset development efforts across the Events & International portfolio. Furthermore, this person will serve a crucial role in delivering meaningful insights to League stakeholders, personnel from 32 Clubs, and external partners.

This position requires an analytical and entrepreneurial mindset, superior attention to detail, strong project management skills, demonstrated communication tools, ability to build relationships with stakeholders, and be ready to meet multiple time-sensitive deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Help lead strategic analysis to drive evolution of existing events and develop platforms to fuel new business and revenue opportunities across the Events & International businesses
  • Work across Events, International, and broader League Office to help develop multi-year business plans, including strategic priorities and investment decisions across key initiatives
  • Directly responsible for day-to-day commercial relationships and driving execution delivery for critical League partners, including hospitality and retail, while supporting other partnerships (Sponsors, Licensees)
  • Identify potential new lines of business lines, growth areas, and partnerships
  • Conduct relevant market research, organize findings, and create analyses to support strategic direction/recommendations
  • Proactively provide his/her own perspective on project materials, show foresight to escalate any issues along with recommended solution
  • Lead and/or collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive end-to-end execution of approved initiatives with key stakeholders
  • Gather input from internal and external groups in order to create comprehensive documents for senior leadership after major events/initiatives are completed
  • Prepare strategic presentations and written memos to Events leadership for variety of uses including ownership and committee meetings
  • Work closely with Corporate Strategy and Finance teams to track, forecast, and communicate financials, KPIs, and other metrics
  • Other ad hoc strategic projects, as assigned by leadership
Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in sports or related industry (media, entertainment, etc.), top-tier consulting firm, financial institution with a proven track record of success
  • Experience building complex presentations in MS PowerPoint
  • Experience working in MS Excel building reports and producing data-driven analysis
  • Working knowledge of sports/entertainment trends, evolution of event & media platforms, and understand business dynamics/revenue models
  • Proven ability to think strategically
  • Strong writing, organizational, and presentation skills
  • Detail-oriented, ability to operate independently, accomplish multiple projects simultaneously
  • Team player who is capable of working cross-functionally within large organization

Salary / Pay RangeThis job posting contains a pay range, which represents the range of salaries or hourly rates that the NFL believes, in good faith, at the time of this posting that it might be willing to pay for the posted job in the location(s) specified. The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.
