WHAT WE’LL NEED

The Director of International Technology will own and deliver the technology strategy and platforms for our international markets to meet the organization’s growth expectations. This individual is an energetic self-starter with a unique ability to partner with leaders across the organization and still have a hands-on approach with the technical team.

The ideal team player will oversee a broad range of technical disciplines focusing on standardizing the POS platform, establishing data integration and business intelligence capabilities, improve information security standards and delivering a digital ordering solution to help our international brand partners grow their off-premise business. This role will help set technology priorities and investments in each market and move the market through a technology roadmap in partnership with the international business leaders and franchisees.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Responsibilities and Measures of Success:

  • Technical leader and manager of the international technology team, responsible for hiring and mentoring talent.
  • Collaborate with and facilitate priority setting across a diverse, cross-functional team of business leaders to define priorities, standards, and synergies to optimize investments.
  • Lead the New Market Entry technology assessments for prospective new markets and franchisees in accordance with Wingstop brand standards and playbooks across the in-restaurant technology and digital technology stack.
  • Lead the planning, development, and execution of multiple, simultaneous small to large projects, in coordination with internal department heads, franchisees, and vendor resources where applicable.
  • Lead day-to-day direction-setting and execution for the team, effectively balancing projects, small enhancements, ad hoc data and analytics requests and support items.
  • Ensure successful execution of analytics and data strategies to increase availability, access, and security of international data to drive business outcomes.
  • Work with vendors and development resources to deliver projects, resolve issues, achieve budget requirements, and manage the application lifecycle of the international products/platforms.
  • Lead efforts to select, plan, and rollout new technologies and vendor integrations to support additional customer insights and analysis.
  • Research, build, and execute against a roadmap to shape the ongoing evolution of the Wingstop international technology platforms.
  • Ability to drive execution from supplier partners and internal development teams.
  • Key Performance Indicators include technology roadmaps across APAC, EMEA and AMER regions, defined playbook for launching new markets and/or expanding unit growth in established markets, detailed resource plans and forecasts for managing capacity and demand across internal WRI and external consulting teams.

Experience / Qualifications:

  • Ability to work in a multi-time zone and multi-cultural environment.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills and the capacity to simultaneously handle a variety of complex, detailed matters with variable dependencies and deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Ability to translate complex technology terms to non-technical audiences.
  • Self-starter who works independently, is self-motivated and goal oriented.
  • Excels in a fast-paced environment; energetic, proactive, innovative, and flexible; comfortable working in a highly visible role.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work individually, within a multi-disciplinary team, as well as with external partners and vendors.
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills with exceptional follow-up and sense of urgency.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build collaborative relationships across functional areas.
  • 5+ years’ experience planning, leading, and executing against departmental roadmaps and budgets to build towards an overall future state vision.
  • 5+ years’ experience leading multiple, medium-sized projects from planning through rollout, including coordinating efforts across business users, technical teams, and vendors.
  • 5+ years’ experience working with point-of-sale, digital ordering technologies, and marketing technologies.
  • 5+ years’ experience with leading and managing small teams using Agile development methodologies as a product owner / manager.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Relevant experience in a multi-location chain business, such as restaurant, retail, or hospitality
  • Relevant experience in international business operations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, technology-related field
