Position Summary

Alzheimer’s WA is seeking to establish a pool of suitably experienced and qualified Education Consultants (Trainer Assessors) to support training delivery and development of our specialised dementia education programs. Alzheimer's WA aims to improve the outcomes for people living with dementia utilising expert dementia training for new and existing aged care workers.

As a qualified and experienced trainer and assessor with a passion for educating others you will be required to deliver and assess both nationally accredited training in accordance with training package requirements as well as our non-accredited community-based education programs. You will be involved in engaging and encouraging students and session attendees, in both classroom and online settings, sharing your knowledge and skills in your area of expertise.

The ideal applicant will be an individual who can demonstrate leadership and person-centredness in their approach to learning strategies, enabling students from diverse backgrounds and circumstances to achieve success.

Duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Deliver face-to-face and online training and education
  • Conduct assessments, complete marking, and record learning outcomes for accredited training
  • Conducting workplace training and assessments.
  • Participating in the review and development of training course materials.
  • Participate in the validation and moderation process
  • Process Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) documents
  • Assist in identifying new growth and development opportunities for the RTO
  • Maintaining vocational competency and currency.
  • Participate in industry engagement.
  • Actively assisting with organisational adherence with RTO standards 2015.
Essential Criteria:
  • Currency in training CHC43015- Certificate IV in Ageing Support and CHC33021 and; Certificate III in Individual Support or CHC33015 - Certificate III in Individual Support.
  • Experience delivering CHCAGE005- Provide support to people living with dementia or CHCAGE011 - Provide support to people living with dementia
  • Relevant experience and vocational currency for working with people living with dementia.
  • Understanding of a person-centred approach in dementia care
  • Understanding of RTO compliance requirements
  • Experience and demonstrable skills in the development education and VET programmes for adults
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, maintain attention to detail, and organise competing priority workloads to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to undertake travel within the state as required
  • Working rights in Australia
  • Current Police Clearance
  • A valid WA ‘C’ class driver’s licence
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Up-to-date Industry Vaccinations
Qualifications:
  • CHC43015- Certificate IV in Ageing Support
  • CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support or CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support.
  • Trainer & Assessor qualifications including one of the following:
    • TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; or
    • TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; or
    • TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, and one of the following:
      • TAELLN411 Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills or its successor or
      • TAELLN401A Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills
      • and one of the following:
      • TAEASS502 Design and develop assessment tools or its successor or
      • TAEASS502A Design and develop assessment tools or
      • TAEASS502B Design and develop assessment tools.
      • A diploma or higher level qualification in adult education.
    Desirable Criteria:
    • Tertiary Qualification in Dementia
    • 10719NAT Certificate IV in Leadership and Innovation in Dementia Services
    • Experience in developing and delivering online education programs and working with an LMS
    • Knowledge of Aged Care Quality and NDIS Standards
