Heavymech Pty Ltd is a specialist fabrication and general engineering business established in 1968 with workshops in South Australia and Mount Isa.

Due to current project requirements we are looking for experienced Metal Fabricators/Boilermakers (full-time) for manufacturing work in Mount Isa.

You will require experience and competence in your trade.

Mandatory Requirements Are As Follows

• Trade qualifications with proven experience in metal fabrication or similar;
• Ability to interpret and work from workshop drawings;
• Experience with MIG, TIG and Flux Core;
• Applicants with forklift (LF) licence will be considered an advantage, but not essential;
• Commitment to safe work practices;
• Ability to work cooperatively within a team environment; and
• Successful applicants will be required to undergo and pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol test.

Candidates Are Expected To Be Able To

• Read and interpret fabrication drawings and understand welding symbols
• Select correct material/s and mark up for fabrication
• Cut materials using oxy acetylene, plasma, etc.
• Weld a variety of different steel grades making finished product
• Have experience with welding a variety of steel thicknesses –6mm to 100mm
• Be able to weld a variety of techniques, including; Fillet welds, Butt welds, vertical up / vertical down, etc.
