Job Description

Mission

The Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Advisor plays a strategic role in support, prevention and management within the organization. The incumbent will guide and sensitize managers and employees in their HSE choices. A strategic and agile thinker, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to support the organization in dealing with HSE-related issues on multidisciplinary engineering projects, particularly in the transportation and building sectors.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Promoting a health, safety and environment (HSE) culture within the company
  • Support office HSE committees
  • Implement a strategic approach to supporting and managing HSE operations
  • Approach and develop HSE partnerships and committees
  • Support employees and managers in the field while managing the HSE risk analysis process
  • Draft safe working procedures in partnership with the people concerned
  • Conduct investigations, accident analyses and audits
  • Set up training programs and carry out new HSE continuous improvement projects in the workplace
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (ergonomics, industrial relations, health and safety or equivalent)
  • 3 to 5 years' significant HSE experience
  • Agile, strategic thinking and team spirit
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • In-depth knowledge of legislation and industry best practices in Quebec and other Canadian provinces
  • Driver's license and access to a car for occasional trips in Quebec.
  • Experience in the environmental field is an asset
