New Covenant Academy is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time Jr. Kindergarten Teacher (employment agreement renewable annually pending board approval) beginning in August 2024 to May 2025. The individual will work at the Grace campus location, 3801 S. Kansas Ave., Springfield, MO 65807

Job Summary

The role of the teacher is to engage and inspire students to learn the subject matter and impart skills and attitudes that will positively contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible Christian men and women. The teacher will integrate Biblical principles throughout the curriculum, and plan and implement a course of study to meet the individual needs of students, prepare and submit lesson plans, and assess student progress while demonstrating their own mastery of the subject matter taught. The teacher must also communicate and collaborate effectively with parents, students, administration, and faculty for the success of each student. Training And Qualifications

Qualified candidates must have a valid Missouri (or from another state within the U.S.) Teaching Certificate and hold an appropriate endorsement (Birth-3rd Grade) with a minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in a related field. Furthermore, candidates must have a Christian testimony reflected in a daily walk that exemplifies the Christian faith and demonstrate evidence of regeneration and dedication to the cause of Christ and have an expressed desire (call) to work in a Christian school.

Benefits & Compensation

The salary base for this position with the required minimum education begins at $38,039 for a first-year teacher with certification. Fringe benefits for the full-time teacher include medical insurance for the employee, with NCA paying for a majority of the premium. More information related to benefits can be provided from human resources upon request. 50% discount in tuition remission for your own qualified student to attend New Covenant Academy.

Physical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, ability to adjust focus, and peripheral vision. The employee is frequently required to walk, stand, sit, possibly run, stretch, use hands for fine manipulation, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms using a keyboard and video display terminal. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must have the ability to demonstrate the proper techniques and skills needed for athletic participation. Other physical activities may be required related to the physical ability to perform emergency procedures evacuating students out of the classroom (possibly through a window) or following other emergency protocols. This position may require occasional lifting or transport of objects (25-30lbs). Rarely, it may be necessary to lift up to 50 lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/SCHOOL SETTING

Fluorescent-lit classrooms, gymnasium, cafeteria, and other areas where students may be. Noise levels will vary throughout the shift.
