About The Opportunity
First and foremost, this newly created role has been introduced to the Armadillo team with the goal to provide the next generation with an opportunity to develop, build a career and learn about our wonderful business. The Junior Designer would be providing the wider R&D team with administrative and departmental support.
Key Responsibilities May Include:
- Assisting with research of ideas, source material and support design ideas
- Accurate product ordering, tracking of samples and scheduling of photoshoots or test rugs
- Maintaining accurate and thorough product documentation inclusive of product photography, filing and archiving (digital/physical), and maintaining product lists for other departments.
- Support in the physical and digital Research & Development (R&D) sample management
- Creating and formatting effective communication tools, such as R&D decks and staff product training presentations.
- Assist with the range development with the R&D team e.g. gather inspirational references, drawings, pattern work & CAD development
- Liaising with India-based team to achieve aesthetic and functional features with guidance from R&D Manager & Designer
- Develop CADs as required by the sales team
Ideally, you will have:
- A background in textiles (technical textiles, woven or knotted would be a preference), interior design or product design/development would be ideal
- An eye for details with strong organisational skills and the appetite to manage administrative tasks
- The ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment
- The ability to lift large rugs and rug samples in line with WH&S policies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to identify and implement process efficiencies where possible
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite
- The desire and ability to travel internationally (India) or domestically periodically
