Permanent full-time (7.5 hrs per day) Service Desk Technician
Job Purpose: The Service Desk Technician serves as the primary technical contact for the IT service desk. The position is responsible for the effective delivery of remote technical support to end users and escalation to specialized services.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Demonstrated experience with computer hardware, software and networking in a Microsoft environment, including Active Directory.
- Experience with desktop deployment solutions (Microsoft SCCM).
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Lync, RDP and VNC clients.
- Knowledge of network topologies and concepts.
- Demonstrated experience with service desk environments and ticketing systems.
- Experience with Apple computers and tablets.
- Ability to manage confidential material and maintain staff and student privacy.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a technology related discipline or a combination of education, related certifications and experience.
- Minimum of one (1) year of demonstrated technical expertise.
- Microsoft Certification preferred.
- As per Conditions of Employment (non-union)
- 37.5 hours per week, 12 months per year
- Commencing as soon as possible on a mutually agreeable date
- Salary range: $26.44 - $30.93 per hour
- Limited travel between schools
- Physical lifting of computer and network equipment up to 40 lb.
- Shared office environment
