As part of our ongoing commitment to improve pre-birth practice and outcomes for children and families in Lambeth we are seeking two dedicated Social Workers with experience in completing comprehensive and high-quality Pre-Birth Assessments within Children’s Social Care.

In pre-birth, our model and ambition are to enable babies to remain with their parents, or at least within the birth family, where it is safe to do so. To support our vision for children and families, we are looking for experienced Social Workers who can bring a comprehensive knowledge and skill-base to their work. You must be driven and ambitious - both for yourself and for children and families.

About the role:

This is a newly developed role that will provide intensive support during pregnancy to parents, by completing holistic assessments of need and risk and providing specific, goal orientated support. Parents will be supported to achieve and sustain change, enabling them to provide safe appropriate parenting to their baby.

The primary aim is to support parents from the earliest opportunity so that they can safely care for their child from birth. This is through intensive intervention from social workers, family support workers and other professionals. Robust Pre-Birth Assessments are completed alongside this work to allow evidence-based decisions to be made.
