The Senior Curriculum Director supervises the development of Imagine Learning Studios core K-5 ELA products and applies content knowledge and scientifically backed instructional design principles to create digital instructional materials. This position should have a deep well of expertise in either curricular assessment or instruction and pedagogy.

Position Type: This is a regular, full-time position.

Compensation: Base pay is anticipated to be between $93,268 and $120,000 per year. Eligible employees may also receive incentive/commission/annual bonus pay based on individual and/or company performance. Compensation may vary based on factors such as, but not limited to, individual skills, experience, training, education/certifications, geographic location, internal equity, and local market conditions.

Location: In this US-based position your location will be remote.

Travel: You can also expect up to approximately 15% travel, so be sure you have a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance and a clean driving record for at least the preceding 39 months.

Envision Your Experience.

In this role you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Apply subject matter expertise while managing the creation, editing, and reviewing of instructional materials in print and digital formats for core curriculum and supporting products.
  • Collaborate closely with internal curriculum experts to ensure that products are instructionally rigorous.
  • Communicate and collaborate within and across functional teams, and with vendors, partners, customers, and independent contractors, to manage projects and address challenges; serve as a project lead as needed and ensure adherence to quality and to project specifications.
  • Lead and mentor a team, managing resources across projects to meet milestones and ensure pedagogical consistency across our K-12 core products, understanding how decisions and changes impact other aspects of development, and setting priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Works with digital and content team to inform development of new tools/feature sets for digital products and platform development based on instructional design best practices.
  • Manage cross-functional relationships with PD and customer success to support customer needs, deepen product knowledge, and develop stakeholder and customer empathy within the curriculum team SME partner with Product Management, Engineering, and Design in developing curriculum features and informing application features.
  • Analyze standards and other curriculum requirements to develop blueprints, scopes and sequences, and other project content-planning documents.
  • Lead the accumulation of competitive analysis and market trends to ensure product viability for users and market needs.
  • Develop expertise in the most emerging trends in educational research, including inquiry-based instruction, science of reading, knowledge-building curricula, and assessment.

Experience, education, and qualifications essential for success in this role, include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in in early education, literacy, Instructional Design, or related field and a minimum of 8 years in educational publishing, technology development, instructional design, curriculum development, or classroom teaching experience; or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
  • Master’s degree in education, Instructional Design, or related field preferred.
  • Teaching experience required.
  • Highly motivated with excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills; self-directed and able to handle multiple priorities with demanding time frames.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Passion for learning and teaching with K-12 with a track record of learning new skills and adapting to change.
  • Proven ability to collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a high-quality results-driven, team-oriented environment.
  • Travel up to 15%
  • Passionate about creating engaging and effective learning products.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office and G-Suite products.
