AKA NYC is looking for a Social Media Manager & Content Creator to lead social strategy and output for select clients, as well as create and develop social content. The ideal candidate is a proven strategic and innovative thinker that can bring ideas to life across social platforms in a creative way. A passion for creating unique and engaging content and experiences that help achieve client’s goals is a must. Reporting to the Head of Social Media and Digital Strategy, the Social Media Manager & Content Creator is a full-time exempt position that is based in New York City.    

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Become an expert on assigned client’s goals and provide strategic counsel including education and selling clients on social media strategy
  • Brainstorm innovative ideas/strategies to support campaign initiatives with focus on storytelling, influencers, and audience engagement
  • Develop, communicate and gain client support for comprehensive social marketing strategy, goals, budget, and calendar
  • Oversee execution of social content that tells a consistent and compelling story by improving show/brand awareness, recognition, favorability, and growth objectives across key audiences
  • Work with other team members to ensure engaging content is delivered on strategy and on time
  • Create and oversee post creation (still graphics—animations and video assets a plus)
  • Shoot content on phone as needed with a creative eye
  • Ensure client-approved strategies are delivered to agreed timeline and budget
  • Shape social media campaigns with competitive and industry analyses and measurement frameworks; set KPIs to measure success and adjust accordingly
  • Uncover emerging social media platforms and/or first-mover opportunities within existing platforms
  • Participate in ongoing optimization of the social strategy, playbook, community management, content creation, social promotions/contests, and partnerships to improving our delivery and enhance results
  • Perform other duties as assigned
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in integrated or content marketing, social media, communications from a B2C perspective for entertainment, cultural or arts clients. Agency experience is a benefit
  • Passion for social media, including how influential different platforms can be in driving customer experience and engagement
  • Knowledge about major and emerging social channels, specific rules of engagement for advertisers, and general platform policies
  • Creative eye with proficiency in photo and video editing on desktop and mobile apps (TikTok, Instagram, Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere)
  • Experience in strategizing and executing photo and video content captures, in a variety of settings for multiple campaign needs (experience shooting on phone and camera a plus)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, project management, presentation, cross-functional collaboration and relationship-building skills
  • Comfortable presenting to clients and senior executives and can create social strategies and plans
  • Basic analytics experience, measuring campaign performance, and analyzing metrics to support overall social strategy
  • Passion for entertainment and the arts
  • Highly creative and can develop new ideas to be a leader in the industry
