Position Summary

Cambrian College’s Marketing, Recruitment and Student Success requires a full-time Student Success and Recruitment Events Assistant.

Note: Internal candidates, as defined by the Full-Time Support Staff Collective Agreement, will be given first consideration.

Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting To The Director, Marketing, Recruitment And Student Success The Incumbent Plans/coordinates, And Executes And Implements Activities For The Multi-faceted Student Success And Recruitment Events That Are Held Internally And Externally Of The College This Would Involve, But Not Limited To

  • Organize and coordinate planning meetings.
  • Organizing volunteers and staff resources to ensure successful execution of events and activities.
  • Communicate through a variety of mediums (written and verbal) with prospective and current students, college stakeholders and external partners to promote the colleges brand and strategic values and goals.
  • Project and event management that align with strategic plans and departmental goals.
  • Provide event support to the Recruitment, Student Success and Recruitment Team including but not limited to Open houses, Orientation, Recruitment Group tours, OCIF, Skills Ontario
  • Organize transportation for select groups to and from major events.
  • Open House and Orientation Events
  • Manage swag inventory and organize swag storage rooms.
  • Communicate with internal staff members about event support and organize information as directed by the supervisor.
  • Required to keep an update calendar, data, budget, and all relevant information pertaining to every event that will be used to measure YOY effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain detailed planning logs for each event than includes all planning components and timelines.
  • Responsible for the level of customer service standards and experience within the Directors office area – welcome students, visitors, staff, and stakeholders as required.
  • Departmental and College committee meeting minutes
  • Conduct research and provide feedback on departmental strategies and plans based on data and anecdotal evidence.
Qualifications
  • A three-year postsecondary diploma, degree, or equivalent in Public Relations, Business, or related field. (A copy of educational documents must be submitted with application *** education completed outside of Canada, applicants are required to submit a WES or ICAS with their application)
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in organizing and facilitating special events
  • Excellent oral and written communication, organizational, and time management skills
  • Possess the ability to balance several complex and ongoing tasks, while maintaining impeccable attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
  • Events planning and logistics.
  • Public speaking and group presentation skills
Experience in a postsecondary educational setting
