Position Overview/Purpose:

The Vendor Manager at SMG Holdings is critical in establishing and maintaining strong, productive relationships with third party vendors and suppliers that align with the company's strategic goals. This role is responsible for the comprehensive management of vendor performances to ensure compliance with SMG’s service standards and contractual obligations. The ideal candidate will drive the optimization of service quality, cost-effectiveness, and innovation through effective supplier management and procurement strategies.

A successful candidate will have a strong passion for both the vendor and customer experience/delivery excellence, exceptional rapport building skills both written and spoken, and a proven track record of exceeding expectations.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement third party vendor management policies and procedures that align with organizational objectives and operational needs.
  • Conduct thorough vendor evaluations to assess capabilities, performance levels, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage renewals, ensuring favorable terms and adherence to legal and compliance standards.
  • Foster strong relationships with vendors to support reliable, continuous supply chains and to identify opportunities for service improvement and cost reduction.
  • Monitor vendor performance through regular reviews, audits, and feedback mechanisms, taking corrective actions when necessary.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across Operations, Account Management, and Finance to align vendor management strategies with broader business objectives.
  • Implement risk management strategies for vendor relationships, anticipating potential issues and developing contingency plans alongside vendor compliance assurance through regularly conducted audits.
  • Drive the adoption of innovative technologies and practices among vendors to improve efficiency and service quality.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and developments to inform strategic purchasing decisions and vendor interactions.
  • Ensure high levels of both external and internal stakeholder satisfaction through the vendor experiential journey and engineer continual process improvements cross-functionally to align holistically with company growth and goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in vendor management, procurement, or supply chain roles within the facilities management or related industry.
  • Proven track record of managing complex vendor portfolios and achieving measurable improvements in cost, efficiency, and service quality.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage contracts effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to build and maintain positive relationships.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with procurement and vendor management software.

Other Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite including but not limited to PowerPoint, Word, Excel (Pivot Tables, navigating larger data sets).
  • Data Analytics and Tools understanding and identifying action items from canned reporting tools.
  • Industry WMS Systems Experience (Service Channel, Corrigo, Verisae, Fexa, Facilit, etc.) managing high volume transactions within WMS Systems and ensuring congruencies between SMG and client environment, a plus.
  • Change Management: Experience leading change management initiatives, with the ability to guide teams and clients through transitions smoothly, ensuring minimal disruption and maintaining high levels of service delivery
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee the operational handling of accounts, including the management of work orders, dispatching, and the review process for accuracy and cost competitiveness. Ensure that projects are completed within the set timelines and budget, adhering to industry standards.
