Vineyard Worker / Farm Labourer
Although you will be employed by Hillwood Berries, you may be working under labour hire arrangements on other farms.
Work will primarily be on Vineyards within a 50km radius of Hillwood.

You will be required to complete tasks such as pruning, bud removal, weeding, trellising work and picking. There may also be some work such as planting or berry picking at Hillwood Berries, depending on work availability.
General farm work will usually be paid on an hourly basis. You will be working 38hrs a week, Employment is under either the Horticulture or Wine Industry awards (dependent upon the type of farm you are sent to work at). Job Classification under award level 1 and hourly rate is $22.61 for Horticulture or $22.93 for the Wine Industry. There are some tasks (usually picking) that may be performed under piecework agreements. Upskilling and promotions maybe possible based on skills and attitudes. Additional allowances will be paid for additional skills and roles, including First Aid and Leading Hand allowances.
Points To Note
Hours during harvest can be long, and rostered work often includes weekends. You will need to ensure that you are available to work all hours that are rostered to you. This can mean early starts in cold, winter weather and hot days over summer.
You will need to have reliable form of transport.
The exact duration of the working days cannot be predicted. As they are dictated by factors such as the weather or fruit quality available on the day.
This will be a labour-intensive job and work can be repetitive. If you have never worked on a farm before, please consider this before you apply.
Please note that Hillwood Berries is only seeking applicants who are available to work for at least 6 months. Please do not apply if you are only looking for a shorter-term position.
