Job DescriptionOVERVIEW:This position primarily involves picking eyewear lenses from the warehouse shelving units. The job involves moving between the aisles with a push cart and hand held baskets, loading the required lenses in the baskets onto the push cart or hand holding the baskets for single orders. The picker then moves the lenses to the checking area prior to billing the order.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Picking up orders from the printer from a designated area and prepare for picking

Sorting and checking orders for special instructions and putting in basket

Proceeding to the bin/row location and pick products as per order

Taking order to the billing table for checking and invoicing, once order has been filled

Performing housekeeping duties as required (floor sweeping the work area, picking up empty boxes…)

Putting away and/or rotating stock

Performing any other duties as requested by the supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

Working experience in the warehouse

Attention to detail and accuracy a must

Must be able to handle conflicting priorities on a daily basis

Good Communication skills

Must be able to work well in a small team environment

Physical And Other Demands

There is considerable standing and walking for prolonged periods on concrete floors in this job function.

Reaching above should height and below waist height.

Repetitive movements of arms and shoulders is required while picking from shelves

Must be able to work 8-hour shift and work flexible hours, including overtime when required

Grasping or reaching for lenses in the storage sleeve that holds up to 20 lenses

Ensuring that the picker is accurate in picking the right lenses

Deadlines for courier pickups (mid-day and late afternoon) may dictate accelerated pace of work

Use of step ladders for product that is on higher shelves—Step ladders are 2 or 3 steps only

Safety Shoes are a requirement and must be worn in the Lab and Warehouse facilities.
